Lower Water Street Temporarily Closed to Traffic
(Monday, April 19/ 2004) --- Effective immediately, Lower Water Street in front of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is
closed to vehicular traffic.
This temporary closure will allow for the completion of construction which is part of the sewage collection system for the
Harbour Solutions Project. Construction at this location had been temporarily suspended to allow for the completion of
archeological work.
This phase of construction on Lower Water Street will last for approximately one week during which time a full road
closure between Sackville and Prince Streets during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday - Saturday will be in
effect.
Residents are also reminded Hollis Street, between Sackville and Morris Streets, continues to be restricted to single-lane
traffic on a block-by-block basis. Traffic delays can be expected for approximately 2 ½ months. Traffic control personnel
will be on site to assist with traffic flow.
Residents and truck traffic are asked to use alternate routes. HRM apologizes for any inconvenience this necessary
construction may cause.
