Buses & Ferries - Metro Transit

Updated May 31, 2012

Passenger Luggage Policy

Passengers are allowed to travel with luggage on Metro Transit buses only if the luggage can be safely stowed on the floor directly in front of you, on your lap, or in the overhead luggage rack where provided (MetroX Airport/Fall River buses only). Provincial regulations stipulate that the aisle and doorways must be clear of any items that may impede the flow of passengers.

Metro Transit is committed to providing a safe operating environment.  As a passenger, you are responsible to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Passengers are responsible for carrying, handling and stowing their own luggage while travelling on the bus
  • As a consideration to other passengers, please do not stow your luggage on the seats next to you

  • Do not leave your personal belongings unattended as Metro Transit is not responsible for lost or stolen items
  • Small pets are permitted only if properly restrained in a closed cage. Large dogs and exotic animals are prohibited

  • The bus operator is responsible for the safety of the bus and well-being of its passengers. As such, an operator may refuse service to persons with luggage that is unable to be safely stowed on-board the bus
