Accessible Low-Floor (ALF) Buses

Take a Free Ride on Metro Transit's ALF Service

in July 2005 !

Metro Transit continues to expand its fully Accessible Low Floor (ALF) service and by the end of May, 2005 will offer ALF service on a total of 9 major transit routes. Additional Accessible Low floor (ALF) service is also being planned for the Fall and Winter 2005, with the introduction of the new direct, limited stop, MetroLink service from Portland Hills and Sackville.

Meanwhile with the more agreeable summer weather almost upon us, if you are a registered user of Access-A-Bus or use a walker, or wheelchair on a regular basis, and are able to travel unassisted to a bus stop and board a bus, we invite you to try our ALF service free of charge and travel on the regular Accessible Low Floor (ALF) routes during the entire month of July 2005! Our drivers do provide assistance if required with the tie-down system on the ALF buses.

Accessible service is now offered on routes:

#3 Manor

#6 Quinpool

#7 Robie/ Gottingen

#9 Barrington

#14 Leiblin Park

#54 Montebello

#61 Auburn/North Preston

#66 Penhorn, and

NEW Route # 72 Portland Hills (introduced in May 2005)

*more to follow in the Fall and Winter of 2005.
