Introducing Metro Transit's newest Service...

MetroLink is a limited-stop, direct, fully accessible new bus-commuting option. Delivering premium service at a premium price, MetroLink's interior includes carpeted walls and ceiling for sound-dampening and custom-upholstered high-back seats with arm and foot rests. Heated in the winter and air-conditioned in the summer, this advertising-free zone offers comfort and plenty of room to relax and enjoy your commute.
- On February 20, 2006: Metro Transit introduced Phase II of its MetroLink service - the #185 Sackville Link.
Park & Ride the Link!
Parking in a public lot in downtown Halifax – if you can find a spot – costs as much as $200 per month. Commuting with MetroLink costs only $75 per month (Adult fare). Plus, think of the money you’d save on gas and maintenance! (MetroLink offers free Park ‘n’ Ride lots, too). The Portland Hills Terminal Park & Ride lot accomodates 180 cars (and is in the process of expanding), and the Sackville Terminal accomodates 175 parking spaces.
For more information on Park & Ride, visit the Park & Ride section of the website.
Bike & Ride the Link!
Free, easy to use bike racks are mounted on all MetroLink buses, accommodating 2 bikes. Instructional pamphlets are also available for more information.
Bike Lockers are available at both MetroLink terminals.

Donegal Drive Trail Connector to Portland Hills
(Posted 09/12/05)
As part of Metro Transit’s new MetroLink service, introduced to Portland Hills in August 2005, a walking and bicycling trail is planned to connect Donegal Drive to the new Portland Hills Terminal to encourage active living in HRM.
Due to the environmental sensitivity in the wetlands surrounding the proposed trail, the completion of the trail has been rescheduled and is now set for spring 2006.
Metro Transit sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause its passengers.
