Porter’s Lake Community Transit Schedule Adjustments

In response to the online and onboard passenger surveys conducted in fall 2009, the following schedule adjustments will be implemented beginning Monday, February 1, 2010.

Note that both the am and pm trips have been adjusted, while no additional trips have been added.

Pilot Service To Sambro

Beginning Monday, August 31, 2009, our Community Transit introduced pilot service to the community of Sambro.

Transit begins its two-directional service from the Ketch Harbour Fire Station, with stops at Ketch Harbour Rd., Old Sambro Rd., Dentith Rd., to terminate at South Centre Mall. Transit service begins at 5:30 am with interval service throughout the day, and the last trip leaving the fire station at 8:15 pm.

Community Transit service will be available from Monday to Friday only. Buses will be equipped with a bike rack, which can accommodate two bicycles.

During this pilot period, the route will not be accessible to wheelchairs.

Community Transit Fares

Effective August 30th, 2009, the Fare Structure for all Community Transit Services, including the new Sambro Community Transit service, was changed to reflect the conventional route transit fare structure:

  • $2.25 Adult
  • $1.50 Child (ages 5 - 15)
  • $1.50 Senior (ages 65 & up)

Metro Pass, Metro Link Passes, MetroX Passes and UPass accepted at face value on Community Transit.

 

 

Important Passenger Information

  • Please allow for delays due to winter road conditions, traffic and detours.
  • Remember to be at your stop a few minutes before the scheduled time of departure.
  • It is dangerous to stop and pick up passengers who are not on the proper side of the road. Therefore, for the safety of the public and our passengers, Operators have been instructed to stop only for persons who are on the proper side of the road and are standing in a safe area.
  • It is extremely dangerous to cross the road in front of a bus. Please allow for the bus to proceed and then cross.
