  • Alderney Ferry Service Resumes Regular Schedule

(Monday, January 10, 2005) Metro Transit wishes to advise the public that the Alderney Ferry service has resumed its regular schedule. The second Alderney vessel is back in service, offering 15 minutes frequency during peak hours and half hour frequency during off-peak hours. The first ferry leaves Alderney at 6:30 am and the last vessel leaves Halifax at 11:45 pm.

One of the ferry vessels was out of service for several weeks, due to an annual cycle of drydock inspections required by Transport Canada.

December

Temporary Closure of Mumford Terminal - Sunday December 19th, 2004

Due to construction scheduled by Halifax Shopping Centre Annex on Sunday December 19, 2004, the Mumford Transit Terminal will be required to shut down temporarily at the existing location and be re-located from the beginning of the service day, Sunday, until approximately 5:00 pm.

A construction crew will be working on the site to place a water line for the building under construction adjacent to the transit terminal.

As a result, Metro Transit will operate from a temporary terminal location situated across Mumford Road from the present terminal, on the main Halifax Shopping Centre property, between the parkade and the main entrance by the bank.

Signs will be posted at the present Terminal and a Transit Supervisor will be on-site to direct passengers to the temporary terminal location across the street.

The temporary shut down of Mumford Terminal is expected to last for one day only, from the beginning of the service day, Sunday, until approximately 5:00 pm.

Metro Transit regrets any inconvenience caused as a result to its passengers.
