HRM maintains approximately: 120 sports fields, 180 ball fields, 420 playgrounds, 200 sports courts, and 20 skate and BMX barks, in addition to various trails, open spaces and pathways. Municipal Operations staff are responsible for maintaining these public spaces through aspects such as: litter clean-up, turf grooming, playground inspections and lining of sports fields.
