Open Data

Open Data is here to stay, releasing 5 new datasets, and switching platforms to increase user benefits!

Mayor Mike Savage and Regional Council are pleased to introduce the new Halifax Open Data Catalogue, which is now a permanent service provided for citizens and businesses alike, as recognised by the newly adopted Open Data Administrative Order.

As part of Halifax's commitment to improving citizen engagement and enhancing transparency and accountability to its residents, the municipality is pleased to provide public access to its data and has released 5 new datasets.

The new and improved Open Data Catalogue, powered by Esri technology, will be moving from Socrata on October 1, 2014, to improve accessibility. However, both platforms will be supported until the end of October 2014 to give current API consumers time to switch over to the new platform.
