On June 30th, 2016 Harbour East – Harbour East-Marine Drive Community Council approved the proposed development agreement to allow an expansion to an existing industrial use at 424 Caldwell Road, Cole Harbour to allow for a new building on the property to store industrial tools and to accommodate office space. Any aggrieved person, the Provincial Director of Planning, or the Council of any adjoining municipality may, within fourteen days of the publishing of the newspaper notice, appeal to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (902-424-4448) in accordance with the provisions of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.

The applicant has requested that Harbour East-Marine Drive Community Council consider a development agreement for a proposed expansion to an existing industrial use.

The subject property is designated UR (Urban Residential) under the Cole Harbour/Westphal Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and zoned R-1 (Single Unit Dwelling Zone) under the Cole Harbour/Westphal Land Use By-law (LUB).

The site plan and building plans (provided below) outline the proposed industrial use expansion. The applicant is proposing to construct a 60 foot by 50 foot (3,000 square foot), two-storey building for industrial storage and office space.
