The applicant has requested that Harbour East-Marine Drive Community Council approve a rezoning in order to enable development of a new industrial building.
The subject property is designated Industrial and Residential under the Dartmouth Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and currently zoned S (Institutional) under the Dartmouth Land Use By-law (LUB).
The site plan (provided below) shows the proposed industrial building which consists of a 2275 square metre facility, intended to serve as a business development incubator. The existing facility located at 1 Research Drive would also be zoned from S to I-1 in order to recognize the existing business use of the site.
This application is being considered under the rezoning process.
The application is under review by staff. Minutes from the PIM, held on January 26, 2016, will be included in the staff report to Harbour East-Marine Drive Community Council. A public hearing is required prior to any Council decision on the application.
