The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is staffed by detectives/investigators who conduct their investigations while wearing plain/civilian clothes. The function of this Division is to investigate all crimes referred to it for further attention. Detectives may be called out to particular crime scenes to assist or take over the investigation. In most cases these crimes have already had a preliminary response at the patrol level. Once assigned, the specialized investigator will use their expertise, knowledge and skills to bring the case to a conclusion.
