Halifax Regional Police keeps citizens informed about crimes/crime trends, public safety issues, crime prevention tips and good news stories through police reports and media releases.

Media releases are published to the website upon release, Monday through Friday with the exception of holidays.

Police reports are issued at the end of each 12-hour shift and published to the website by 11 a.m. the following day, Monday through Friday with the exception of holidays. Police reports list significant crimes, primarily those that pose a public safety risk and those which entail serious injuries.

The HRM Crime Mapping site is an interactive site which is updated daily at 12:15 a.m. with incidents of five specific crime types – robberies, assaults, break and enters, thefts of vehicles and thefts from vehicles.
