Police Request Public Assistance

Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance to identify the driver involved in a hit and run in Fairview on Tuesday.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was crossing the road at the intersection of Dutch Village Road and Joseph Howe Drive. She was in the crosswalk when she was struck and knocked to the ground by a vehicle. She was taken to hospital with a non life-threatening injury to her leg. The vehicle in question is a white, 2-door, Chevy Colbalt that was being driven by a younger white male. It left the area heading south towards the Armdale rotary.

Halifax Regional Police would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle and are asking him or anyone with information about this incident to contact police at 490-5016.
