The HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit is seeking the public's assistance in solving the homicide of Jean Hilda Myra.

On April 5, 1990, at 10:48 a.m., police responded to a report from a citizen who had been walking on the west side of the grain elevators just south of South Bland Street and discovered a body under a set of stairs next to the grain elevators. The deceased was identified as Jean Hilda Myra and it was determined she was the victim of a homicide.

The investigation revealed that the victim had been residing at the YMCA at the time of her death. The victim had last been seen leaving a tavern located in the south end of Barrington Street around midnight on April 4, 1990, and she was known to frequent the general surrounding area in the south end of Halifax.
