The HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit is seeking the public's assistance in solving the homicide of Kevin James Petrie.

On March 28, 2004, at approximately 1 p.m., police responded to a report that a man was having unknown medical problems at 7132 Spruce Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers found Kevin Petrie in medical distress. Mr. Petrie was transported to the QE11 hospital where he later died.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Petrie had been the victim of a break and enter and a serious assault on March 17, 2004, which occurred at 269 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. It is believed that the injuries the victim received during this home invasion was a contributing factor in his death.
