A Mother's Perspective
The Youth LIVE program has served hundreds of youth in our community since our inception in 1994.
Between January to December 2008, 70 youth facing barriers to employment applied to join Youth LIVE. Of those 70 applicants, 51 confirmed they were ready for a change and committed to the program.
Of those 51 participants, 20 have had successful outcomes to date - completing the full six month program, finding gainful employment or returning to school. Another 10 of the 51 are still attending the program. The remaining 21 have now left the program but have not reported a successful outcome to date. We follow up with participants for three months after they have left the program and will continue to update outcomes for 2008 as more information becomes available. |
