| Police departments around the world have long been involved in the pomp and ceremony surrounding public events, parades, memorial services and VIP visits. Halifax Regional Police is no exception.
Our Colour Guard was born of the former Halifax Police Department Colour Guard, which was formed June 1, 1986 by several interested members.
These members saw a need to promote the Department and its members in a positive way. They wanted to instil a sense of pride both for the Department and for the uniform which the members so proudly wear each and every day. In addition to this, they wanted to provide members with an opportunity to come together in an organized manner and enjoy the pride and camaraderie that comes from being a police officer.
The Colour Guard participates in numerous events each year including the National Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service held in Ottawa.
