The Unit issues approximately 250 news releases a year, including community safety alerts and media advisories.

Public Affairs is responsible for managing the HRP website, the sale of HRP merchandise, organizing the department's annual recognition and awards night, as well as special events and projects.

The Unit provides continual assistance to members with regard to internal and external communication initiatives, recognition and awards programs and media guidance and awareness.
