We encourage each candidate to be aware of our expectations in the process and be prepared to demonstrate their best.
You should review this site carefully and consider the following questions:
"Am I a person who is an effective communicator?"
"Do I respect all individuals and provide assistance in a courteous manner?"
"Are my current qualifications enough to make me a competitive applicant?"
Each year, hundreds of candidates apply to the Police Science Program. At each stage of the selection process, a minimum level of achievement must be obtained. However, meeting the minimum level does not guarantee your ability to continue. Based on the positions available, Human Resources will determine the number of candidates that will proceed to the next stage. You must remember that you are competing with others for employment. The caliber and expectation of our cadets is high and you must be prepared to accept the competitive nature of the process.
Candidates who successfully proceed through each stage of our selection process and are offered a position in the training program, significantly surpass our basic requirements. Selection is based on each candidate's competitiveness.
