Construction Services is responsible for overseeing capital projects and major repairs to HRM owned facilities that total approximately 3.5 million dollars annually.
The projects can range in value from $5,000 to $500,000. These projects would include planned upgrades and renovations, dealing with health and safety related issues such as asbestos and mould remediation, and emergency projects such as oil spills, and roof leaks, etc.
Construction Services is comprised of a Superintendent of Construction and Services, five Construction Supervisors which oversee the various projects, and a Contract Administrator to oversee the financial aspects of the various projects. Construction Services works closely with Infrastructure and Asset Management to plan and manage major capital projects as well as the tenants of the various HRM facilities.
