About Us:

Community Recreation Services (CRS) offers a wide range of recreation programs and services to over 196 communities throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality.

CRS provides both direct and community development services. Core services focus on the child and youth population while also providing gap filling opportunities for other age groups.

CRS focuses on youth development and youth engagement.

CRS continually reviews areas which have the potential to impact demands for recreation and leisure infrastructure and resources.

Ensuring that children living in low income families have access to recreation is a matter of equity and inclusion.

Mission:

Community Recreation Services enriches the lives of HRM residents and communities by facilitating and/or providing quality inclusive leisure services, facilities and programs.

CRS has identified strategic outcomes within its recreation blue print which include:
