Green Features of the Gordon R. Snow Community Centre
The Gordon R. Snow Community Centre has many environmentally friendly and sustainable design features, which allow it to qualify for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. LEED is like an environmental report cared for buildings, a point system that encourages “green” building practices by examining:
- Sustainable site development

To become certified, a building is rated on a 70 point scale. Depending upon its score, the building is awarded one of four certification levels; certified, silver, gold or platinum. The higher the score the less of an impact the building has on the environment. The Gordon R. Snow Community Centre is targeting LEED Silver certification.
