Who can apply to the Youth LIVE program? Anyone can apply as long as they are 16-30-years-old, not employed, and not attending school full-time. |

I attend school and am looking for a summer job. Can I join Youth LIVE? We cannot accommodate students looking for a summer position. Potential applicants must be willing to commit 28 consecutive weeks to the program. |

What if I have a criminal record? Having a criminal record does not make you ineligible to apply to Youth LIVE. However, we may do additional checks to confirm that Youth LIVE is the right program for you. |

How do I apply to Youth LIVE? You can apply by calling us at 490-5589, or sending your resume via fax at 490-2317 or email to ylrecruit@halifax.ca. |

What happens after I apply? After we have spoken with you and determined that Youth LIVE may be the program for you, we will ask you to call us in a few days to set up an in-person interview at our Enviro Depot. |

How long is the interview?
The length of the interview varies from person to person but it typically takes about one hour. We want to get to know you and make sure Youth LIVE is the right program for you. |

How will I know if I've been accepted to the program? After your interview, we will review the information you provided during the interview and determine if Youth LIVE is the right option for you at this time. We will ask you to contact us within a week of your interview to confirm you remain interested in joining the program. When you call we will confirm if your application has been successful and, if we have current vacancies, give you a start date for the program. If we do not have current vacancies, we will place you on our waiting list and ask you to keep in touch with us on a weekly basis so we can keep you updated on the next available start date. If we determine that Youth LIVE is not the right option for you at this time, we will provide you with information on other options you may want to explore. |

How long will I have to wait if I am placed on the waiting list?
This can vary. As soon as one participant finishes the program, a new participant can start. We will place you on our waiting list and ask you to keep in touch with us on a weekly basis so we can keep you updated on the next available start date. |

Is there anything I should do while I am on the waiting list? We ask that you call us once per week to let us know that you are still interested in joining Youth LIVE. If you do not have a Social Insurance number or a bank account, you should be taking steps to obtain both. |
