Regional Planning Themes

Based on the research and public consultation done in Phase I of the regional planning process, several main themes were identified that will drive Regional Planning in HRM.

The themes are Economy, Environment, Settlement Pattern, Transportation, Halifax Harbour and the Capital District.

Although each topic area has an independent set of issues and opportunities, each one is dependent on the others for the Regional Plan to be successful.
