Natural Gas Pipeline Installation – Queen Street

(May 25, 2012) – Beginning Monday, May 28, a natural gas main installation project will start on Queen Street between Doyle Street and Clyde Street.

The pipe installation will generally take place on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

This project will require trenches across Queen Street and Spring Garden Road. During the excavation of the crossings, the traffic signals will be turned off and the intersection will be controlled by Traffic Control Persons. There will also be some intermittent sidewalk closures during this project. The project will be complete by June 15.

Heritage Gas and HRM apologize in advance for any inconvenience these delays may cause.

A portion of sidewalk on Barrington Street from Duke Street to George Street is currently fenced off and will remain closed until further notice. New urban trail opens in HRM

Thursday, May 24, 2012 - A new multi-use trail in Halifax is opening this weekend. Residents are invited to join HRM Councillor Sue Uteck, Halifax Citadel-Sable Island MLA Leonard Preyra, Senator Stephen Greene and Mark Poirier, president of the Halifax Urban Greenway Association (HUGA) to celebrate the trail’s official opening.

What: Official opening of the Halifax Urban Greenway

When: Saturday, May 26 at 11 a.m.

Where: Parkette at the corner of South Street and Beaufort Avenue
