                          &lt;p&gt;During this work, there will be lane drops in place.  Motorists should expect delays and are requested to find alternate routes. &lt;/p&gt;

                          &lt;p&gt;Tuesday, May 21, 2013 (Halifax, NS) &amp;ndash; Beginning Wednesday, May 22, Heritage Gas will be installing a natural gas main across Agricola Street at Charles Street.&lt;/p&gt;
                          &lt;p&gt;The pipe installation and subsequent restoration is expected to take two days.  No work will take place on Agricola between the hours of 7 a.m.-9 a.m. and 4p.m. -6 p.m.

                          &lt;p&gt;Thursday, May 16 ,2013 (Halifax, NS) &amp;ndash; Metro Transit is pleased to offer extended Alderney ferry service on Sunday, May 19 to support Bluenose Marathon participants. Extended Sunday service will be offered as follows: &lt;/p&gt;
                          &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Alderney to Halifax&lt;/strong&gt;
                          6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (every 30 minutes)&lt;/p&gt;

                          6:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. (every 30 minutes) &lt;/p&gt;

                          &lt;p&gt;Thursday May 16, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - May 19 to 25 is National Public Works Week, which highlights the essential role that public works plays in our community.  HRM is celebrating the week and its employees who make a difference by showcasing municipal service equipment and hosting displays and activities. &lt;/p&gt;
                          &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;When:   Thursday May 23 (Rain date Friday, May 24)
                            Where:  Halifax Commons near the Emera Oval
                            Time:     10 a.m. until 2 p.m.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
                          &lt;p&gt;HRM Transportation and Public Works representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment and explain how municipal services are delivered to the public.  Greenhouse staff will show children how to transplant a seedling, HRM arborists will demonstrate tree climbing, and Moby S. Loop, the recycling robot from the Resource Recovery Fund Board, will also be in attendance.   School groups and children accompanied by parents are welcome. &lt;/p&gt;

                            The Alderney Ferry will operate on holiday schedule, but the Woodside Ferry will not be in operation on Victoria Day.

                          &lt;p&gt;Wednesday, May 15, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - Residents of Halifax Regional Municipality are reminded that regular municipal collection services will be provided on Victoria Day, Monday, May 20, 2013.  Collection of garbage, organics or recyclables normally scheduled on Victoria Day, Monday, May 20 will occur as usual.
                            
                          Residents are reminded that collection services can begin at 7 a.m.  To ensure collection is not missed, residents may place materials curbside the evening prior to collection day.&lt;/p&gt;
                          &lt;p&gt;The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facilities, the two Composting Facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant at 20 Horseshoe Lake Drive will be open on Victoria Day, Monday, May 20 with normal operating hours.&lt;/p&gt;
                          &lt;p&gt;The Halifax Regional Municipality&amp;rsquo;s residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will be open Saturday, May 18 and Saturday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.&lt;/p&gt;

                          &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Free swimming lessons at all HRM beaches this summer&lt;/strong&gt;
                          &lt;/p&gt;
                          &lt;p&gt;Tuesday, May 14, 2013 (Halifax, NS) &amp;ndash; HRM is pleased to announce that all swimming lessons, and Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, and junior lifeguard programs running at HRM&amp;rsquo;s outdoor beaches and the Halifax Common Outdoor  pool, are free to the public for the upcoming summer session.  Registration is still required in order to take part in the classes. &lt;/p&gt;
                          &lt;p&gt;Registration will start at 10 A.M. on June 5, 2013 and will continue until classes are filled.  Participants can register online at HRM&amp;rsquo;s Community Recreation Services &amp;ldquo;Rec Connect&amp;rdquo; on line at:       https://eservices2.halifax.ca/recconnect/Activities/ActivitiesAdvSearch.asp.  Click on &amp;ldquo;Beach&amp;rdquo; for more information. Or call 490-6666, or visit a HRM operated community recreation centre.
