Site Accessibility

We are committed to maximizing all benefits of recreation to residents and visitors of the Emera Oval, including persons with disabilities. Sledge in use at the Emera Oval

Currently accessibility for visitors to the Emera Oval includes:
  • Accessible parking (on Cogswell Street)
  • One accessible washroom
  • Ramp to skates and helmets trailer
  • In winter season - free sledge rentals (for use in outside lane only)
  • Wheelchairs allowed on concrete/ice (in outside lane only)

FREE Helmet and Skate Loans

Please note: A valid Government issued photo ID is required to borrow the inline skates and helmets.

All users must wear a helmet while on the Emera Oval. Anyone borrowing equipment from the Emera Oval will be required to also borrow a multi-impact helmet. Upon your arrival visit our helmet lending trailer to pick them up.

In season - inline skates are available to borrow.

In season - ice skates are available to borrow at the site thanks to the Active Halifax Communities/RBC Skate Drive.
