Winter Operations Information
April 2013
Enforcement of the overnight winter parking ban has been lifted for the 2012-13 season.
HRM thanks residents for their patience and cooperation.

During the 2012/13 winter season, HRM’s Traffic
Authority continued with the trial of an amended winter
parking ban. The changes were intended to offer some flexibility to those
who are most affected by the ban, such as shift workers, residents without a driveway and business
owners, without compromising HRM’s snow and ice clearing operations.
The overnight parking regulations were in effect from Dec. 15 to March 31, and were enforced during declared snow
and ice operations only. When in effect, it ran
from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
