CYCLING
Brunswick Street Assessment
Cornwallis Street to MacDonald Bridge Head Area
Pavement Factors
Roadway conditions are generally good
along the entire segment. Parallel drain grates are located near
several intersecting streets. Traffic was noted to be
consistently heavy along the length after 3:30 P.M. during
several site visits. This segment has benefited from closing the
street to bridge traffic as wearing and cracking has been
substantially reduced.
Location Factors
Land use on this segment is primarily low
to medium density residential with several designated Heritage
Properties and Churches. On-street parking is permitted on the
east side in most areas with some restrictions. There are two
traffic lanes along this section of Brunswick Street.

The road surface is generally
good along this section of Brunswick Street.
High
volume traffic at afternoon peak times has been eliminated with the closing of
the street to bridge traffic.

Traffic from Barrington
accessed North Street and the Macdonald Bridge from the
one-way westbound Artz Street (above picture) on this section, making it
one of the most heavily traveled residential streets in the
municipality prior to closing it to bridge traffic.

Several small medium density
developments on cloistered lane-ways are located off Brunswick Street between
Cornwallis Street and the North Street- Macdonald Bridge ramp
area.
