Concealed Road Signs

What are they?

Concealed Road SignsConcealed Road signs are intersection warning signs which may be installed where a driver would not be adequately prepared for turning movements from a crossroad.

For a crossroad intersection with a slight offset the sign should indicate that the side streets are not opposite each other.

Where are they used?

Concealed Road signs are generally reserved for use on major roadways such as arterials and collectors where it has been determined that vehicles turning from a side street would pose a hazard to an approaching motorist on the major street.

Concealed Road signs should not be used within residential areas where vehicle speeds are relatively low and the majority of traffic is local in nature.
