What are they?

Hearing Impaired and Visually Impaired SignsThese warning signs are intended to advise motorists of the presence of a private residence or institution that houses a person or persons who are hearing or visually impaired to the degree that they cannot exercise due caution while present on the roadway.

Where do we install them?

These signs may be installed on roadways directly abutting private residences or institutions where:

  • an institution, certified through notification by an administrative official, has prime responsibility of instruction or training of visually or hearing impaired persons.
  • a private residence houses a visually or hearing impaired person. Receipt of medical certification is required.
