Bay of Islands Trails Committee

Bay of Islands Trail
Bay of Islands Trail

The Bay of Islands Trail is located along Moser River East, Kelly Lake, Round Lake, and along the Bay of Islands Kayak Routes.

The Bay of Islands Trails Committee began in 2001 as a community development project in an effort to economically rejuvenate the village of Moser River and surrounding area. The Committee is working to establish 2 walking trails along the river and a longer recreational trail at Kelly Lake.

The trail development aims to attract visitors to the Bay of Islands region and provide health benefits to its residents.

The mandate of the Committee is:

  • To serve the eco-tourism market by offering and supporting exceptional "Trail Head" facilities and services, including an interpretive center.
  • Provide an interpretive mini-trail system through various eco-environments including the Old Mill river walk (Moser River - both sides of Highway 7, dam side, railway side), Mill Stream Gorge and the Woodland Trail, for the enjoyment and appreciation of the community at large; and
  • To support the development of the Kelly Lake Regional Trail.
