The Chezzetcook Musquodoboit Trail (CMTA) is a 9.6 km section of abandoned rail bed between Musquodoboit Harbour and Gaetz Brook. The trail is in its planning stages.
The CMTA was inspired by the beautiful work of the Musquodoboit
Trailways Association. Community visionaries decided it was time to
establish a similar trail along the abandoned rail bed. The CMTA adjoins
the Musquodoboit Trail Association (MTA), from behind the railway museum in Musquodoboit Harbour and
connects to the East Chezzetcook Rd. The process of engaging the
community, establishing the association, and planning the project began
in 2004.
The goal of the CMTA is to develop the abandoned rail bed as an Active
Transporation corridor and thereby promote physical activity and
healthy lifestyles.
