Wilderness Area Association

Crowbar Lake Wilderness Trail

The Porters Lake and Myra Road Wilderness Area Association maintains the Crowbar Lake Wilderness Trail. The Crowbar Trail is a backcountry wilderness trail and country loop located along Porters Lake in Dartmouth.

The Crowbar Trails were initially discussed in 1996 and evolved from a proposed 5 km hiking trail to Crowbar Lake into a network of 18 kms of trails through one of Nova Scotia’s most significant intact wilderness areas. The Association was an early proponent of Nova Scotia’s protected areas and works to encourage appropriate non-motorized recreation consistant with the Wilderness Protect Act.
