Preston and Area Trails Association Members on the North Preston
Waterline Trail |
The Association has recently taken over management of the North Preston Waterline trail that runs along the water line to North Preston. The 3 km Waterline Trail is a crusher dust surface that will evntually connect to the community of North Preston
Another goal of the Preston & Area Trail Association is to create a 7 km trail around Lake Eagle and other areas within the community to create wellness and tourism and to allow access to significant land marks and links to the surrounding communities.
A concept plan has been prepared by Consultant Lesley Griffiths and Gordon Ratcliffe of Gordon Ratcliffe & Associates. Community consultations regarding the rail concept plan were conducted in the fall of 2007 and winter of 2008. A draft concept plan was presented to the community at a public meeting at the East Preston Recreation Centre on April 17, 2008 . See side links.
