The citizens of the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) have a deep history of voluntarism. It is estimated that approximately 200,000 volunteers throughout the communities of HRM contribute approximately 318,000 hours of service per year.
One way that HRM recognizes and supports its local volunteers is through the Annual HRM Volunteer Conference. This year marked the 11th year for the conference which provides valuable networking and learning opportunities for local volunteers. Volunteering contributes towards public safety, fosters Good Neighbours, and builds Great Neighbourhoods.
The 2011 HRM Volunteer Conference was a tremendous success with over 180 people participating in the conference. Special Thanks go to:
- Richard Butts and Dr Ruth Goldbloom for speaking at the conference
- To all the presenters who did a fantastic job presenting their sessions
- To our sponsors
- And to the numerous volunteers and participants who helped make the conference the success it was.
