Each year Halifax Regional Municipality, the Mayor and Regional Council recognize the extraordinary contributions of individuals and groups who volunteer their time and skills to provide services and programs in HRM communities.

HRM hosted its Award Ceremony on April 17, 2013 at the Harbourview Holiday Inn in Dartmouth. The Mayor and Regional Council presented awards to the recipients followed by a reception. This years Volunteer of the Year was Allana Loh of Dartmouth.
