Donna Nelligan - Youth Advocate Worker

Donna works in the community of Woodside/Gaston Road.  Donna is a respected community activist and is the past President of her neighbourhood’s Tenant Association.  She has taken many college courses in Youth Advocacy.

Helen Chase - Youth Advocate Worker

Helen works in the community of North Preston.  Helen has been a Youth Care Worker for many years with the HomeBridge Youth Society and is a cadet instructor with the Department of National Defence.

Tyla Johnson's photo

Tyla Johnson - Youth Adovcate Worker

Tyla works in the communities of Spryfield and Fairview.  Tyla has worked with families and youth in community settings for several years.  Prior to joining the Youth Advocate Program she worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters as well as the Dartmouth Family Resource Centre. 

Tyrone Richards

Tyrone Richards - Youth Advocate Worker

Tyrone works in the community of Central Dartmouth.  Tyrone has worked for several years with youth.  Until very recently he worked at the Needham Youth Club as well as coordinated and supervised the after school programs at the George Dixon Recreation Centre.

David McCrae

David McCrae - Youth Advocate Worker

David works in the community of East Dartmouth.  David has worked as a Youth Development Coordinator for Sport Nova Scotia, as well as a Program Director and Program Supervisor for the Boys and Girls Club in Dartmouth. David has be a dedicated volunteer with many organizations and has been the recipient of several awards for his volunteer work.

Troy Allen Youth Advocate Worker

Troy Allen - Youth Advocate Worker

Troy works in the communities of North and Central Halifax and Bayers Westwood . Troy has years of experience as a youth care worker in the fields of mental health and justice. He has worked for or volunteered with the IWK Adolescent Centre for Treatment, Phoenix Youth Programs, Chisholm Treatment Centre and the Department of Justice.

Otis Daye

 

Otis Daye - Youth Advocate Program Assistant

Otis, has been actively involved with youth for over ten years. He holds a degree in Peace and Conflict and has experience in mediation and conflict management. Prior to working with the Youth Advocate Program, he was a Community Outreach Worker with the Halifax Regional School Board's, SchoolsPlus Program. Otis is working toward completing his second degree in education.
