Police Report January 10, 2012

GO# 12-4929 - Attempt Robbery - At approximately 1:50 p.m., a male party entered the TD Canada Trust located at 590 Portland Street, approached the teller and handed her a note demanding the cash. There was no weapon indicated or seen. Before the teller could do anything, the male then turned and walked out of the bank. He was last seen walking towards Portland Street on foot. No one was injured during the incident and the suspect did not receive any cash from the bank. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 40 years of age, 6’ tall, thin build, wearing a dark coloured winter parka with a fur collar and dark sunglasses.

 

GO#12-5148 - Weapons - At 9:26 p.m., Halifax Regional Police received a call of several gun shots in the area of Churchill Court in Dartmouth. Two vehicles, one car and a pickup truck, fled the area. Several bullet casings were located in the parking lot of Churchill Court. At 9:48 p.m., the hospital notified police that two males had arrived at emergency with gunshot wounds. Police responded to the hospital and located a car with damaged windows parked outside. The victims had driven to the hospital themselves. Two men in their early twenties remain in hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The HRP/RCMP Integrated GIS members are continuing the investigation. There is no further description of suspect(s) or the pickup truck.
