The applicant has submitted plans for a construction and demolition materials processing facility on the property. The proposal for the facility includes truck unloading, truck scales, sorting, processing/storage, inspection, parking and a scale house/office building. The proposal also includes signage and fencing.
The subject property falls within the Planning District 8 & 9 (Lake Echo/ Porters Lake) Plan Area. The Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) for Planning District 8 & 9 enables Harbour East – Marine Drive Community Council (HEMDCC) to consider a rezoning on subject property under Policies P-46G and P-89.
The application is being considered under the rezoning process.
This application is no longer on hold by request of the applicant. Staff will prepare a staff report for Community Councils consideration.
Open Houses (public consultation) were held to receive feedback regarding the proposal. Staff are conducting an internal review of the application and will submit a staff report to the HEMDCC, should they wish to consider the rezoning a public hearing will be held.
The staff report has been prepared and will be tabled with Harbour East Marine Drive Community Council (HEMDCC).
