Application by WM Fares Architects, on behalf of Cornerstone Developments Limited, to rezone seven (7) properties at 651 – 701 St. Margaret’s Bay Road, Halifax from R-2P to R-3.

The applicant wishes to rezone the above-mentioned properties from R-2P to R-3 to permit additional units within existing buildings at six (6) of the seven (7) properties. These properties are currently designated Medium Density Residential (MDR) under the Mainland South Secondary Plan. The existing buildings have been constructed as per the R-2P zone standards and each contain up to four (4) units. The applicant has indicated that the intent would be to construct two (2) additional units per building resulting in a net increase of 12 units.

The application will be considered under the rezoning and land use by-law amendment processes.
