HRM has received an application from T.A. Scott Architecture & Design Ltd. to enter into a development agreement with the municipality to permit a new commercial building at 235 Beaver Bank Rd featuring a pharmacy and medical clinic uses.
The property is designated Urban Residential [UR] under the Sackville Municipal Planning Strategy [MPS], and is currently zoned R-6. The proposal is being considered under MPS policies UR-15 and UR-18. Policy UR-15 enables Community Council to consider applications for Medical Clinics in the UR Designation by Development Agreement while Policy UR-18 enables consideration of local commercial or C-1 uses in the UR Designation by development agreement.
This application is being considered through the Development Agreement Process.
A public information meeting was held on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Millwood High School, to discuss the application. The application is now under detailed review by Planning staff. A Public Hearing will be scheduled in the upcoming months.
