HRM has received an application from T.A. Scott Architecture & Design Ltd. to enter into a development agreement with the municipality to permit a new commercial building at 235 Beaver Bank Rd featuring a pharmacy and medical clinic uses.
The property is designated Urban Residential [UR] under the Sackville Municipal Planning Strategy [MPS], and is currently zoned R-6. The proposal is being considered under MPS policies UR-15 and UR-18. Policy UR-15 enables Community Council to consider applications for Medical Clinics in the UR Designation by Development Agreement while Policy UR-18 enables consideration of local commercial or C-1 uses in the UR Designation by development agreement.
This application is being considered through the Development Agreement Process.
A public information meeting was held on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Millwood High School, to discuss the application.
This application was considered by the North West Community Council at its meeting on November 5, 2018 and referred to a public hearing to take place at 7:00 pm on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Bedford-Hammonds Plains Community Centre, 202 Innovation Drive, Bedford.
At the public hearing, members of the public may address Community Council or submit written comments in advance. Written submissions may be forwarded to the Municipal Clerk by mail, P.O. Box 1749, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 3A5; by fax, 902-490-4208; or by e-mail, email@example.com.. Written submissions should be received by the Municipal Clerk’s office as early as possible, and not later than 3:00 pm on Monday, December 10, 2018. For any written submissions exceeding three standard letter sized pages in length, ten copies must be supplied to the Municipal Clerk’s office.
