Application by Lawrence and Kathy Englehart requesting to rezone the lands at 135 Evans Avenue, Halifax (Mainland), from R-1 (Single Family Dwelling) Zone to the R-2 (Two Family Dwelling) Zone.
The applicants are making an application to rezone the subject site which is currently a single detached dwelling with one unit, from the current R-1 designation to R-2. This will lawfully enable a second unit to be located within the same building.
The subject lands are specified as Urban Settlement (US) within the Regional Plan and as Low Density Residential (LDR) within the Community Plan. The Secondary Plan is Fairview. The subject site is 6048 square feet.
This application is being considered through the Rezoning process.
Adjacent property owners will be notified of the proposal by mail. A sign will be posted by the applicant on the subject site advertising the intent to rezone. Staff will undertake a detailed review of the application prior to sending a recommendation report to Halifax and West Community Council.
