A public information meeting (PIM) will be held on Thursday, May 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Dartmouth Seniors Service Centre - Multipurpose room - 45 Ochterloney St, Dartmouth. At this meeting, a presentation will be given outlining the proposal with municipal staff and the applicant in attendance to answer questions and receive feedback.
Teal Architects and Planners, on behalf of the property owner, to rezone the property from R-2/ C-2 to GC (General Commercial) and enter into a development agreement to permit a 12 storey mixed use building with a drive through (through the podium).
The applicant wishes to construct a 12 storey building with a ground floor drive through. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
• 12 storeys in height;
• 124 units;
• 124 parking spaces; and
• 200,363 sq ft with 5,135 sq ft of commercial.
The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to the building design, traffic impacts and the design of the drive through.
The application will be considered under the rezoning and development agreement process.
Currently this application is at the review team stage of the process where the request is reviewed by internal municipal staff from Development Engineering [including Traffic Services], Building Standards, Civic Addressing, Development Officer [By-laws], and Fire Protection Services, as well as externally by Halifax Water.
Documents Submitted for Evaluation
The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by municipal staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office in Downtown Dartmouth.
