A public hearing will be held by Harbour East-Marine Drive Community Council on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Harbour East-Marine Drive Community Council Chambers, Main Floor Alderney Gate, 60 Alderney Drive, Dartmouth.
Application by Michael Napier Architecture Inc. requesting a development agreement to allow for a six (6) storey mixed-use commercial and residential building at 169 Wyse Road, Dartmouth.
The applicant wishes to discharge the existing agreement, which permits the construction of a mixed use commercial and residential building having a maximum height of ten (10) storeys and a maximum eighty (80) dwelling units.
The applicant is requesting a new agreement and is proposing to reduce the overall height and instead request a six (6) storey mixed-use commercial and residential building having a maximum of seventy-eight (78) residential units and 2,600 square feet of ground floor commercial space.
The property is zoned C-2 (General Business) under the Dartmouth Land Use By-law and is designated Commercial under the Dartmouth Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS). The proposal is being considered under Policy IP-5 of the Dartmouth MPS.
The application will be considered under the Development Agreement process.
The application has been circulated to all relevant members of municipal staff for preliminary review and comments have been received.
A public information meeting was held on July 25, 2018 at Dartmouth Public Library in Downtown Dartmouth.
