Application by Shelley Dickey Land Use Planning, requesting an amendment to the Dartmouth Land Use Bylaw to rezone lands at 4 Fernhill Drive, Dartmouth from R-2 and R-3 to C-2.
The subject property at 4 Fernhill Drive (behind Lake City Employment Services Association) is currently owned by Halifax Regional Municipality. Lake City Employment Services owns the abutting property to the south, at Windmill Road and Fernhill Drive. Lake City has an agreement with HRM to purchase the subject property, provided they successfully have the property rezoned and a subdivision plan prepared in order to consolidate the lot with their current site. Lake City has no immediate plans to develop the 4 Fernhill property once it is purchased and consolidated, other than possibly using it for storage or parking. Long term plans are for possible building expansion.
The application will be considered under Rezoning process.
The application has been circulated internally to staff for review and comment. Public consultation includes notification by mail to adjacent property owners surrounding the site. Comments or questions are welcome and may be directed to the contact person listed below.

The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by HRM staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office in Downtown Dartmouth.
