Application by Shelley Dickey Land Use Planning requesting an amendment the height requirements of the Halifax Peninsula Land Use By-law for 5450 Cornwallis Street, Halifax (Delmore Buddy Daye Learning Institute) to increase the maximum building height from 40 feet to 70 feet to allow for two additional floors on the existing building.
The proposed change to the Land Use By-law is to amend the Height Precincts Map (Map ZM-17) to allow the height increase (from 40 feet to 70 feet). If approved, this would allow for two additional floors on the existing building, which is being renovated to allow for occupancy by the Institute, through the as-of-right development and permitting process, pursuant to the existing C-2 zoning on the property.
