A public hearing will be held by Halifax and West Community Council on Wednesday December 11, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Halifax City Hall (Council Chamber), 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax, NS.
Jack Bryant is applying, on behalf of 3232975 Nova Scotia Ltd., to amend the existing 2014 development agreement for PID 40306730, property adjacent to 1300 Prospect Rd, Goodwood, to permit a four-year extension to the deadline for commencement of development and a five year extension to the deadline for the completion of development.
The property owner is making an application to amend the existing approved development agreement that allows for the commercial development of a service station, drive-in restaurant and a 10,000 square foot commercial retail building on PID 40306730. The amendment requested would allow the construction commencement deadline to be extended by four years and the completion of the development deadline to be extended by five years.
The existing development agreement requires construction to commence by August 26, 2018, which is four years after the development agreement was registered. This application proposes to extend the construction commencement deadline to August 26, 2022 and the completion of development deadline to August 26, 2023.
The existing Development Agreement outlines the development proposal in detail, and includes information related to the proposed buildings, parking location, driveway access and landscaping.

After the public hearing closed, Halifax and West Community Council directed staff to consult with the developers to amend the proposed development agreement for Case 21847 increase the buffer between the proposed commercial development and the adjacent wetlands from 20 meters to 30 meters and return with a supplementary staff report outlining the terms of any amended development agreement. Documents Submitted for Evaluation
The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by municipal staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office at 40 Alderney Drive, Dartmouth.
