Application by EDM Planning Services Ltd. requesting an amendment to the Height Precinct map of the Halifax Peninsula Land Use By-law for 2165 Gottingen Street, Halifax to increase the maximum building height from 50 feet to 70 feet.
A building is currently under construction on this property. A small parcel to the rear is proposed to be added to the lot (separate consolidation process). This application is a request to allow for modification of the building under construction to allow one additional floor, so that the building will be 5 storeys high (facing Gottingen Street) instead of 4 storeys. Building height is measured from the average grade around the building (front and rear) to the highest point of the roof. The new height of 70 feet will apply to the new consolidated lot.
The application will be considered under the Land Use By-law Amendment process.
Information postcards are being mailed to neighbouring residents in December of 2018, seeking feedback on the proposal.
