Provident Developments is applying to amend the Bedford Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Bedford Land Use By-law (LUB), to redesignate 110 Waterfront Drive from Waterfront Comprehensive Development District (WFCDD) to Residential (R), and rezone it from Waterfront Comprehensive Development District (WFCDD) to Residential Single Unit (RSU).
Proposal
The applicant wishes to construct a new single unit dwelling at 110 Waterfront Drive, Bedford. The MPS and LUB amendments are required to facilitate the development as the existing policy currently only allows for a townhouse or multi-unit development on the site, with a minimum of three units.
The Concept Plan (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail.
Process
The application will be considered under the Municipal Planning Strategy Amendment and Development Agreement process.
Status
As of March 3, 2022, the applicant has withdrawn this planning application.
On November 23, 2021, Regional Council directed staff to begin this planning process. Staff’s report to Council is here. The next step is holding a meeting of the North West Planning Advisory Committee.
Documents Submitted for Evaluation
The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by HRM staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office in Downtown Dartmouth.
