Brighter Community Planning & Consulting has amended their request to change the zone from Mixed Use (MU-1) zone to Mixed Industrial (I-1) zone at 1155 Lucasville Road to permit a bus yard. The applicant is now requesting that a “School Bus Yard” be added to the list of permitted uses in the Mixed Use (MU-1) zone of the Beaverbank, Hammonds Plains & Upper Sackville LUB.
The subject property for the proposed rezoning is located at 1155 Lucasville Road, Lucasville. The property is designated Mixed Use B (MUB) in the Beaverbank, Hammonds Plains & Upper Sackville Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and is zoned Mixed Use (MU-1) under the Land Use By-law (LUB).

Municipal staff have completed the public consultation.
Prior to any considerations on this matter, North West Community Council is required under the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter, to hold a Public Hearing. At that time, an additional opportunity for public feedback is provided. Notices of the date, time and location of the Hearing will be advertised in the future.
